DESCRIPTION:We’re a parishioner-led group devoted to exploring queer theology more deeply\, and how members of the LGBTQIA+ community are not just accepted in the Episcopal Church but embraced in God’s love. We ask ourselves: How does the queer perspective enrich queer theology and our community? All LGBTQIA+ people and allies are welcome. Ford\, esteemed local historian\, Norfolk State University professor\, and co-author of LGBT Hampton Roads\, to explore Norfolk’s local LGBTQ+ experience through the lens of systemic marginalization and liberation. \nread more			\n			\n				\n			\n\n				\n														\n													Known and Loved — A Queer Theology Reading of the Woman at the Well\n											\n				\n					At our Queer Theology Discussion Group on Sunday March 8 we discussed the lectionary of the week\, focusing on John 4:5-42\, when Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well.  \nread more			\n			\n				\n			\n\n				\n														\n													Discussing Queer Allyship in Sonny’s Blues by James Baldwin\n											\n				\n					In honor of Black History Month\, in our Queer Theology Discussion Group meeting\, we discussed the short story “Sonny’s Blues” by James Baldwin alongside the lectionary for the week\, through the complementary lenses of Black Liberation Theology and Queer Theology.  \nread more			\n			\n				\n			\n\n				\n														\n													Queer Theology: Dissecting Acts 10 after the killing of Renee Good\n											\n				\n					This month we reflected on a variety of readings as planned\, but also added in framing and discussion around the killing of Old Dominion Graduate Renee Good\, this week\, and the Christian faith of love and kindness that guided her as a queer Christian.  \nread more
