Scientists have discovered that in the last twenty years methane gas has had a warming effect 80 times greater than carbon dioxide.  This means that the gas and oil industry has helped cause climate change more than previously estimated.  To reach this conclusion scientists tested ice-core air bubbles that had been frozen for centuries before the Industrial Revolution (and are considered stable).  The scientists found the old methane far less toxic than previously calculated.              Source  –  The Week
