Just this past month Christ & St. Luke’s Episcopal Church members were able to provide life-saving funding to Nazareth Mission Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Funds were allocated for the Out-Patient Care (OPD) of six children in the villages adjacent to Nazareth Hospital. Each child was part of a project to help the “poorest of the poor” children in Kenya. Ruth and James were two of the children receiving care.

RuthRuth is 17 years old. She is from the Githungri Village, Kiambu County. She was treated for a thyroid gland condition. With proper testing and medication, she returned to high school to complete her studies.

JamesJames is 9 years old. He’s in the second grade. James has numerous challenges: malnourished, abandoned by his mother, and an irresponsible father. Yet, James does extremely well academically. He was treated for chest pains and headaches. He too has been able to return to school!

On behalf of Ruth, James, and our “Together for Kenya” co-laborers, we express our thanks to the Christ & St. Luke’s Episcopal Church members for caring to take action to help these children.
