Across Kenya, around half of 14 to 17 year olds do not finish high school. For nearly 10 years, Together for Kenya and others have found innovative ways to enhance education and increase the knowledge and skills of these precious young children.
This past week, Kate and Rudy were privileged to meet two young people who have benefited from these programs.
Patrick began life as a “ very sickly” orphan. Yet with medical help and care, he was encouraged to complete his education and attend a trade school majoring in “Technical Boiler Maintenance.” Today Patrick has a wonderful job at a local dairy and manufacturing company.
Lawrence was raised by a single mom who continually struggled with providing funding to complete his education. With a meager amount of financial help, Lawrence was able to complete his secondary education and attend a Business Trade School. Today Lawrence is a successful Real Estate broker and has recently established one of the first Mobile Food Carts in Nairobi!
Thank you so much for helping these young entrepreneurs gain skills and courage to transform their community.
