In our urban areas we are losing one tree out of every two due to natural disasters, removal for future developments, improper planting and/or arbitrary decorative plans.  The losses are a problem because trees are slowing climate change, providing cooling shade in summer and protecting against harsh winter weather, as well as helping to clean the air we breathe (by capturing carbon) which affects the health of many, especially children.              Source  –  American Forests
