Given the growing youth population in sub-Sahara Africa Together for Kenya is empowering Mutomo Mission Hospital to engage area youth in agri-business opportunities. These youth have been educated and encouraged to become involved in the planning, planting, maintenance, harvesting and sales of vegetable crops using preexisting greenhouses. Several community-level trainers have inspired over 25 youth to achieve a money-making venture in this community by growing and selling tomatoes. We were told they have sold out this year’s harvest to local restaurants!
