Mtr. Katie Beth has a special ministry role: she serves as Asst. Rector at Christ & St. Luke’s and also as the Chaplain for Canterbury Episcopal Center at Old Dominion University. Mtr. Katie Beth is originally from Louisiana and holds master’s degrees in theology and international peace and conflict resolution. She believes ministry is about learning the stories of our faith, living them out in community, and sharing them with one another.
Mtr. Katie Beth was ordained to the priesthood in August 2023, a few weeks after joining Christ & St. Luke’s. Prior to serving here, she served four years as Director of Campus Ministry at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Athens, OH and eight years as an English as a Second Language (ESL) in Taiwan, the Republic of China.
Mtr. Katie Beth is a recreational rescue diver, buugeng twirler, and Pat Miller Certified Dog Trainer – Level 1. She loves learning new things and has an adorable, rambunctious pup named Maggie!
