What is Holy Listening?
Through intentional one-on-one listening sessions, we’ve been able to discern a lot about what God has given to us. This process is rooted in the understanding that God has placed all that we need to participate in God’s good work within our communities and each other. We are intentionally searching and gathering those gifts, of which you are one!
The Holy Listening Process is designed in two phases.
- Phase 1 is designed to implement the internal one-on-one conversations with our congregation.
- Phase 2 of the Holy Listening process will be to have similar conversations with our neighbors and community partners who are not direct members of Christ & St. Luke’s.
Each phase is not necessarily time-limited, rather focused more on the type of individual engaged and data gathered. Even though a Phase 1 Report has been issued, the work of Phase 1 is ongoing. By better understanding our parish community, our neighbors, and our geographical region, we will be better equipped to grow in ways that align us with God’s mission.
Phase 1 Report
Next Steps
As indicated in the Phase 1 report, Phase 2 is an ongoing process of reaching out to community groups not a part of Christ & St. Luke’s to better understand the gifts, skills, and assets of our neighborhood and community. This work is a major focus of the 2025/26 program year.
