Composting is a way to keep yard and food waste from landfills where they create greenhouse gases. Line bottom and sides of the composting space with chicken wire to keep rodents out. Collect dried leaves in the fall to use all year. Chop or blend food scraps into small pieces for faster decomposing. Keep food scraps in the freezer to eliminate smell and bugs until ready to use. Add scraps of paper as dry material if needed. Add the final product to your garden to improve soil and plant health.
