We live in a time of unprecedented global challenges which seem so daunting and complex that it is easy to feel helpless and lose hope. Some defining challenges are alleviating food and financial insecurities.

In Mutomo Kenya teens have started a project to raise vegetables for sale in their own community. Youth were trained in planning, planting, cultivation, harvesting and retail sales of the end product. Every team had a leader and met weekly to plan for the “next” step.

Together for Kenya was very pleased to provide the “seed money” to make this happen.

Imagine, to everyone’s surprise, all the vegetables were sold to local vendors within 24 hours of harvest. The proceeds will fund the next planting.

Job well done!
