As many of you may know, the recent heavy rains have resulted in the appearance of a series of leaks in the church and parish hall. The leaks in the top floor of the parish hall have now been fixed by the roofers. The work is expected to begin this week (depending on the weather) to fix the leaks in the chapel. We also found a leak over the handicapped ramp that was caused by the removal of scaffolding with some damage to the roof, but this has been fixed, and recent rains have not produced leaks in this area.

As you may also be aware, the downspout work is also being completed, and in some areas second downspouts have been added to handle heavier volumes of water. This water will be redirected away from the building safely.

Gresham’s work is ongoing as you have seen with the scaffolding being moved to the Stockley Garden side of the building. They are also going to clean the underdrain from the Lychgate Garden to the street to eliminate any standing water in the garden.

We want to remind you that we will be receiving some of the organ components starting on September 10, and this will require scaffolding to be built again near the altar, which will require the moving of the temporary altar back in front of the chancel steps as before.

We thank you for your patience during these renovations. We are so much further along now, and we hope that you are as excited as we are about the significant improvements that are finally being realized. Please let me know if you have specific questions about these needed and vital improvements in our infrastructure. Send your questions to me at ude.udo@drofbj, and I will get answers for you that we will present in future reports.
