In July 2018, an Earth Saver mentioned the concern scientists had over the weakening of the Gulf Stream which affects sea level rise, heat waves, harsher winter weather and rainfall in America, Europe and Africa. At this time there is concern about a “blob” of cold water (probably from melting ice sheet) which seems to be causing warm water to stay off the northeast US coast rather than circling in the Atlantic. This could potentially create serious weather problems on both sides of the Atlantic. Source – The Week
