Women of Wisdom (WOW) is a group of women who began gathering monthly in 2018, for fellowship and to read a book together. WOW is not “just another book club.” We experience a lovely community of women who enjoy being together, to know and be known, to love and be loved.
WOW will meet again on Tuesday, 13 February, 2024, 3-5pm, at Christ & St Luke’s. We will begin reading the first 5 chapters of Kate Bowler’s No Cure for Being Human: (And Other Truths I Need to Hear). Please feel free to search for more of Kate Bowler if you’d like to know more about her story before we meet. Kate’s presence is everywhere – her own podcast and interviews, Aspen Institute, with Krista Tippett’s On Being and more! And she is wicked funny.
Check out the Appendix at the end of her book, on pp201-202: Cliches We Hear and Truths We Need. Find one that especially speaks to you at this time in your life – one you’ve heard or one that you say to others. What do you learn from thinking about that cliche in a Kate Bowler way?
All are welcome to join us, even if you’re not able to read the book before we meet. Please contact Frances Dille for more information.
Also, we are planning a silent auction in Lloyd Hall on Sunday, May 19, 2024, after the 10:15 am worship to benefit Together for Kenya. Please contact Cathy Scherer moc.liamg@24hcswc or Diane Rafferty ten.xoc@ytreffar.d for more information about how you can be involved.
