Dear Friends,

The service celebration was one of the most wonderful days in my life. Through the whole morning, I felt bathed in love. As one observer noted, it was even more beautiful because so many of the worshipers were not here when I retired. They only knew me from the remembrances of others.

The worship was beautiful. The opportunity to preach was an honor. The reception, with your usual attention to detail, was a symbol of your affection. Of course, my heart was warmed by the video of Gary Manning, Connie Jones’s remarks, and Win Lewis’s graciousness and affection.

My whole family joins me in thanking you. It was a day like no other and it a blessing to all of us.
