We are always looking for volunteers to assist with our worship ministries. Most of these ministries only require a commitment once a month, although you can always volunteer more often if you wish.  Please contact the Church Office for more information.

Eucharistic Ministers

A Eucharistic Minister (“EM”) is a lay person licensed by the Bishop to administer the consecrated elements (Bread and Wine) of the Holy Eucharist. In our Diocese, EMs are licensed to administer the consecrated Bread and Wine at any celebration of Holy Communion, in the absence of a sufficient number of priests or deacons. Adults and Youth (16 years of age and older) are invited to serve as Eucharistic Ministers. Training is provided.

Acolytes

Teams of acolytes (children and adults) are used on Sundays at the 10:15 a.m. service and for other special services. Volunteer opportunities include crucifer, torch bearers, altar servers, and banner carriers.

Altar Guild /Sacristans

This ministry fulfills a variety of duties, including the care of the articles used in worship (the chalice, candles and candle holders, altar cloths, etc). While we do most of our work on Saturdays and Sundays, we also need people to care for linens, to sew, or to clean. Both men and women serve as sacristans. “Many hands make light work,” while not scriptural, is an aphorism that applies to sacristan duties.

Flower Guild

The Christ & St. Luke’s Flower Guild is an enthusiastic and creative group of men and women who arrange God’s gift of flowers to adorn our altars every Sunday. While our beautiful church needs little or no embellishment, it is our hope that the flower arrangements will lift spirits, inspire hearts, and remind us all of our infinite blessings. The Flower Guild is always looking for new members and we encourage anyone interested to join our joyful ministry!

Audio Support

We would love to have some extra help running the audio system for our services. If you are attentive to detail and willing to learn, we’ll train you on the system. Our audio support personnel ensure mics are ready and that the sound works well during services.
