Women of Wisdom (WOW) is a group of women who began gathering monthly in 2018 for fellowship and to read a book together. Some women came and moved on; some of us came and stayed. We laugh and cry together, sharing prayer concerns and praises and discussing some good books along the way.

WOW is not “just another book club.” One participant describes WOW in this way: “I view WOW as a spiritual support group using literature as a catalyst to conversation.”

All are welcome to join, even if you’re not able to read the book before we meet.

WOW will meet Tuesday July 11, 3-5 pm at Pam Wheeley’s home.

We’ll begin reading the first 132 pages of Mitch Albom’s The Stranger in the Lifeboat. Quoting from the back of the book:

What would happen if we cried out to God for help and someone claiming to be God actually appeared before us?

In Mitch Albom’s profound novel, a group of shipwrecked passengers must face that challenge when a strange man they pull from the water says he can save them all, but only if they believe in him. It’s a quick fiction read and we’ll take the slow summer approach and finish our discussion in August! Enjoy.
