Women of Wisdom

Women of Wisdom (WOW) is a group of women who began gathering monthly in 2018 to discuss great books. We experience a lovely community of women who enjoy keeping community…our theme at Christ & St Luke’s this year.
WOW will meet Tuesday, 8 October, 2024, 3-5pm, in the “gold room” at Christ & St Luke’s.
We will be reading Pádraig Ó Tuama’s In the Shelter. Mother Katie Beth introduced Ó Tuama’s book in her homily on August 25 (audio/video) if you’d like to hear more about him.
Ó Tuama is an Irish poet and theologian. Host of On Being’s Poetry Unbound podcast, he works to bring poetry and literature into conversation with theology and meaning. From 2014-2019 he was the leader of the Corrymeela Community, Ireland’s oldest peace and reconciliation organization. (Taken from the back cover of book)
Ó Tuama is coming to Christ & St Luke’s the weekend of October 26, to inaugurate the Jim Sell Community Conversations and to preach on Sunday the 27th. All are invited. Jim Sell was a beloved priest here at CSL, and his family helped create these conversations as a way to remember and honor Jim. Learn more here.
